Arts Work Foundation Lends Helping Hand to Other Non-Profits

Los Angeles -- Arts Work Foundation, a newly-launched not-for-profit collaboration of film professionals, educators and business leaders is offering free-of-charge post-production sound services to other not-for-profits and educational organizations. Services include individual consultation and support or hands-on training in sound editing and mixing for audio and audio/visual projects such as public service announcements (PSAs) and other fundraising-based initiatives supporting that organization’s goals.

Arts Work Foundation CEO Jim Cushinery explains, “Providing these services to other charitable organizations is our way of contributing to worthwhile programs as we continue to develop our own core programs here at AWF.”

Cushinery has over 20 years experience as a professional sound designer and mixer on records, feature films, television shows and film trailers through his Los Angeles-based production company, Otherworld Distractions.

The mission of Arts Work Foundation is to develop untapped creative potential in young people from depressed communities into skills specific to the film industry. By encouraging, engaging and empowering students thru real-world experience, hands-on training and mentorship, they develop positive attitudes, self-confidence, team skills and a responsible work ethic, thus preparing them for a successful career transition into the workforce. Proceeds raised through Arts Work film projects will be used to supplement arts education programs in schools and organizations in communities across the country.

Arts Work Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity.
